Some Van Buren students were able to compete in a couple of competitions this week, and we are proud of their achievements!
Math Bowl: Comprised of fourth and fifth grade students, our Math Bowl team competed with other schools around the area to see who could receive the most points by solving Math problems. The students have prepared all year, and were able to show off their abilities this week!
Battle of the Books Competition: Today, one team from each Plainfield elementary competed in the Battle of the Books Championship. Each team had four members who were tasked with answering questions over 20 different books that have been read since the fall. We had our school competition last week, and today, Van Buren's winning team took on the other winning teams across the district for the top prize. While Van Buren did not win, we want to congratulate Guilford Elementary for bringing home the top prize!
