Every Kindergarten through 5th grade class at all 5 elementary schools visited the Hendricks Regional Health Heroes Academy during the 2023-2024 school year.
Students created bracelets using a word from the Integrity wall.
They used the words to complete a giant crossword puzzle.
Students received a book created especially for The Imagination Lab, with information about local and historical health heroes.
The coloring book for grades K-2 and the story book for grades 3-5 also connected the Integrity traits to healthy habits.
Students also contributed a name to the Health Heros wall of someone in their life who helped them show Integrity with health choices.
Many identified their parents, police officers and firefighters, along with their doctors and school nurses.
Over the summer of 2023, college interns working with Hendricks Regional Health designed the activities and materials.
