This afternoon, Plainfield Community School Corporation was thrilled to receive the Spirit United Award from the United Way of Central Indiana. We are pleased to be the only school corporation in Hendricks County--and the second school corporation overall--to receive this prestigious award. PCSC cherishes its partnership with the United Way of Central Indiana. Our students, staff, families and community partners all join together when we work towards common good and goals.
We work to encourage an environment of giving in all of our schools, and our efforts are joined by our community partners. Our schools raise money for various charities throughout the year, including–but not limited to–United Way of Central Indiana, Riley Children’s Hospital, Sheltering Wings, Special Olympics, and more.
We have an annual giving drive for United Way of Central Indiana, with each one of our buildings leading its own fundraising efforts. Our students and staff at all grade levels place a high value on participation in United Way, and the pledges that PCSC makes are evidence of our commitment. Since 2014, our pledge amounts have more than doubled, and this year, our total pledge amount was over $46,000! Clearly, our school corporation prioritizes participating in fundraising drives with United Way and other organizations.
Our schools embody our “community of values” and we strive to showcase these year-round. We do not contribute or fundraise for recognition, but rather to continually better our students, families, and community. Receiving the “Spirit United Award” from UWCI is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and philanthropy that we encourage at Plainfield Community School Corporation.
