As First Days go, yesterday was pretty terrific. New school hours, new traffic patterns, new bus routes, new students - with all the "firsts" and "news" that come with a FDOS, the ear-to-ear smiles on the faces of students, parents and teachers tell the story.
At PHS, students received new 1:1 devices. At Central, students walked into renovated classrooms and bathrooms (the hallways and other, more public spaces, will be renovated NEXT summer). Two new school buses were added to the fleet. New student drop-off and pick-up procedures were in place at a couple of schools, and new teachers and administrators greeted students in several buildings.
And yet with all that is new, there remains a thread of consistency, of experience and success. A superintendent and two assistant superintendents with a combined 34 years of experience leading school corporations. Numerous honors and awards, most recently that of having all Plainfield schools named "A" schools and Four Star Schools.
We take the business of caring for, educating and protecting your children very seriously. We appreciate how fortunate we are to live and work in a community where the families take such pride raising children. We have great resources, both human and physical. Working together, we are eager to begin yet another successful year.
