This week, third grade students from all elementary schools went on field trips to Franklin College, in honor of Indiana’s College GO! Week. These students spent the day with Franklin College staff and students, learning about which careers require different types of education, from certification to doctoral degrees and everything in between. Students learned about scholarships, grants, financial aid, student housing, sports, extracurricular activities and more. After a lunch provided by Franklin College, the students embarked on a campus-wide scavenger hunt, where many students came away from the day with a prize.
While we put emphasis on all post-high school opportunities, we hope that this week’s trip inspired some of our third graders to think about what interests them, their future plans, and how they plan to achieve them.
