Superintendent Scott Olinger is pleased to announce that Plainfield Community School Corporation’s school board has voted unanimously to appoint Mr. Ryan Setterlof as the new Principal of Central Elementary. Mr. Setterlof will be replacing Mrs. Julie Thacker, who will be joining Noblesville Schools.
Mr. Setterlof was recommended by Superintendent Olinger at the June 14, 2023 board meeting.
He has previously served as the Principal of Bell Intermediate Academy in Martinsville, a position he has held since 2017. In that position, he has been responsible for teacher support, community engagement, testing schedules, staff hires, and much more. Prior to that, he served as a fifth grade teacher for 15 years in Hamilton Southeastern Schools.
“We are excited about the addition of Mr. Setterlof to the Central Elementary and Plainfield Schools community. His skills will be a fantastic supplement to our team, and we know that his experience will be a benefit to the students, staff and families as he serves as Central’s principal,” Superintendent Olinger said.
Mr. Setterlof holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Early/Middle Childhood Education from Ball State University, and a Masters in Educational Administration and Administrative License from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Mr. Setterlof says, “We fell in love with the community of Plainfield over the last six years and to be able to get back and be part of the school system, specifically with Central, is very exciting. I know how strong the staff is there, so being able to work with them to make it the best we can for all the students and families within Central is something I’m really looking forward to.“
Mr. Setterlof and family moved into the district about 6 years ago with his wife and children. His two children attend PCMS and Central, while his wife works in the public library and is highly active in Central’s PTO.
